We had a great Halloween/Samhain party last night. These are some of the pictures from that. We had hung these "ghosts" all the way down the driveway so that they would bounce against the guests' cars as they arrived. We all had a great time and had a bonfire down at the river, telling ghost stories until late.

Strange happenings out here in these woods

Punkin Man
Snow woman
Yesterday we saw this individual that just decided to kick back at the the head of our driveway and greet passersby. The dogs weren't real crazy about him at first. They bristled up and barked their heads off at him, but they are starting to accept the fact that he is there, at least for awhile. He does seem to be a friendly fellow and seems to mean no harm to anyone.

The arrival of "Punkin Man," as we affectionately call him, reminded us of a visitor we had last winter, whom we have also shown a picture of here. She was kind enough to let us have a picture with her, although she did seem to be a bit embarrassed by her lack of proper attire for the situation.

We would have liked to introduce the two, but alas they are seasons apart and will probably never meet.

These were taken recently when our friend Paul was here visiting. He is a fellow activist with Compassion Over Killing. We had a great few days sitting on the riverbank enjoying the beautiful weather.

Better picture

The latest photo of me
I had a complaint that I did not have a big enough picture of me, but at the time that was all I had. I have never had very many pictures taken of me. Now, all of a sudden, I have to have some taken for this and that. Well, here is one that is a little better.

After months of hard work, scraping, scrounging, and a little help, we finally got the walls up! We are so excited about this. We cut the logs from trees that died and fell over in the ice storm a couple of years ago and had the lumber sawn up in the driveway. We stacked all the boards as they came off the portable sawmill. Now, we are finally getting somewhere in getting our dream cabin built.
